Chapter 3: A Father’s Promise

Julian led Elena out of the overwhelming ballroom through a private service exit, flanked by his personal security team. Outside, a gentle evening rain had begun to fall, cooling the warm city air. They settled into the spacious leather interior of Julian’s private SUV, the engine humming softly as the driver pulled away from the hotel.
Inside the quiet vehicle, the only sounds were the soft, rhythmic breaths of the three baby girls. Elena sat on the bench seat opposite Julian, her eyes fixed on the infants. She felt afraid to touch them, terrified that this moment was merely a cruel dream born of her years of grief.
"Their names are Hope, Grace, and Faith," Julian said gently, breaking the silence. He carefully handed the smallest triplet—Faith—over to Elena.
Elena’s hands shook as she cradled the warm, fragile weight against her chest. The baby let out a tiny, soft sigh and snuggled against Elena's gold silk gown. Tears fell freely down Elena's cheeks, dripping onto her baby's crimson dress.
"I searched for you, Elena," Julian whispered, looking out the rain-streaked window before turning back to her. "When I took the girls from that illegal clinic three months ago, the doctors told me you had vanished. Adrian had hidden you in a private care facility under a false name. I spent every night searching public records and hiring private investigators until I finally spotted you at tonight's event."

"I thought I had lost everything," Elena sobbed, pressing a soft kiss to little Faith's forehead. "I thought my heart was dead."
"Your heart is right here," Julian said gently, placing his hand over hers. "And I promise you, as long as I draw breath, no one will ever separate you from them again."
