Chapter 1: The Golden Ballroom

The grand ballroom of the Grand Regent Hotel gleamed under the warm light of a dozen crystal chandeliers. Golden archways reflected off polished marble floors, scattered lightly with dark red rose petals from the evening’s gala. Standing amidst the crowd of black-tie elites were three figures wrapped in a sudden, suffocating silence.
Adrian, clad in a crisp dark suit, stood behind Elena, his finger pointed aggressively across the room. "What are you doing with my children?!" he demanded, his voice echoing over the hushed classical music.
Elena turned, her backless gold silk gown shimmered under the chandelier light. Tears glistened in her eyes, her lips trembling in shock as she looked at Julian—the man standing before her in a tailored grey suit.
In Julian’s broad arms rested three infant girls, identical triplets wrapped in matching velvet red dresses with crimson bows in their soft hair. The babies looked up with wide, curious eyes, oblivious to the storm brewing around them. Julian held them with practiced ease, his body forming a protective barrier against Adrian’s rage.
For three long years, Elena had lived under the shadow of Adrian’s deception. She had believed her children were lost at birth, a tragic lie crafted by Adrian to break her spirit and force her into an arrangement she never wanted. Now, seeing those three tiny faces, every wall inside her collapsed.

"Julian..." Elena whispered, stepping past Adrian, her voice barely audible over the murmur of the crowd.
Julian looked directly into her eyes, his expression a mixture of profound sorrow and unyielding strength. "You walked away from them because he made you believe they were gone," Julian said softly. "They're my daughters, Elena. And yours."
