Chapter 15 - The Marble Reflection

The flagship store was quiet, bathed in the soft, natural light of early morning before the doors opened to the public. Clara stood in the exact center of the pristine Carrara marble floor, her beige heels clicking softly as she shifted her weight, looking down at the spot where she had been tripped less than twenty-four hours ago.
Footsteps approached from the private elevator hallway. Vivian walked slowly across the polished floor, wearing a simple, unbranded black coat, her hair untied and falling naturally around her shoulders, completely devoid of the sharp, aggressive styling she had worn as a shield for years.
She stopped a few feet away from Clara, looking down at the marble before raising her eyes to meet her sister's calm, steady gaze.
"I’m leaving, Clara," Vivian said, her voice quiet, entirely stripped of its former venom. "I booked a flight out of the country this afternoon. I just... I wanted to say I'm sorry. For everything."
Clara looked at her sister for a long moment, seeing not the ruthless corporate rival, but the broken, misguided sibling who had lost her way in the pursuit of an illusion.
"An apology doesn't fix a fractured foundation, Vivian," Clara said, her tone firm yet laced with a profound, human grace. "But it's a place to start rebuilding. When you're ready to earn your way back—not as an heir, but as an honest partner—the door won't be locked."
Vivian swallowed hard, a single tear slipping silently down her cheek, catching the morning light before falling to the marble floor. She nodded slowly, turned around, and walked toward the revolving glass doors.

As the glass doors spun open, Vivian stepped out into the bright, open morning air, leaving the Vance empire behind her, firmly anchored in hands that knew both how to design beauty and how to defend it.
Clara turned around, walking steadily back toward the grand staircase, ready to open the store doors to a new, honest dawn.
