Chapter 3 - The Cold Steel of Justice “Don’t even think about it, Julian!”

Richard bellowed, whipping out his own legal-issue firearm with terrifying speed and aiming it squarely at Julian’s chest.
The two federal marshals immediately drew their sidearms, stepping into a synchronized tactical formation that blocked every possible exit route from the altar. The congregation panicked, screams echoing as wealthy socialites dove beneath polished mahogany pews, desperately shielding designer handbags and expensive jewels. Julian froze, his hand hovering inches from the grip of his hidden weapon, sweat beading rapidly across his slicked-back dark hair.
“Drop the piece, Julian. It’s over. The house of cards you and your father built on intimidation and blood is finally crashing down.”
Richard commanded, his finger resting lightly on the trigger, his breathing remarkably controlled and lethal.
Julian’s chest heaved violently as he slowly raised both empty hands into the air, glaring venomously at Clara.
“You scheming little bitch. I saved you from bankruptcy, I gave you my name, and this is how you repay me? You’ll never see a dime of the settlement!”
Julian spat, his voice trembling with a mixture of pathetic desperation and lingering malice.
“I don’t want your dirty money, Julian. I want my freedom, my dignity, and the truth exposed to every single person in this room.”
Clara replied firmly, standing up tall despite the sharp, shooting pain radiating from her fractured ribs.
She turned her bruised face toward the sea of terrified guests, many of whom had done business with the groom’s powerful family for decades.
“For two years, you all watched them crush smaller companies, silence whistleblowers, and ruin innocent lives while sipping champagne at these exact galas. That stops today.”
Clara declared, her voice ringing with powerful, unyielding authority.
Agent Miller stepped up to Julian, roughly grabbing his arms and snapping heavy steel handcuffs around his wrists with a sharp, metallic click. The arrogant groom thrashed violently, shouting obscenities as he was forcefully dragged down the candlelit aisle toward the heavy oak doors. Richard lowered his weapon, letting out a long, exhausted breath as he walked over to his battered daughter and gently placed a supportive hand on her trembling shoulder.
“Are you alright, my brave girl?”
Richard asked softly, his stern facade melting into deep paternal concern as he gazed at her injuries.
“I’m surviving, Dad. But we aren’t finished yet. Julian was just the lackey; the mastermind is still sitting in the VIP balcony.”
May you like
Clara whispered grimly, her swollen eye narrowing as she stared up into the shadowed mezzanine.
