Chapter 14 - The Final Broadcast

The automated broadcast crackled loudly through the speakers of every police cruiser, patrol car, and federal vehicle surrounding the cathedral courtyard.
“Attention all units, this is Special Agent Elena Vance. The Assistant Attorney General's entire financial network and cartel collusion files have been successfully broadcast globally.”
Elena’s crystal-clear voice echoed powerfully across the concrete square.
Dozens of honest local police officers and uncorrupted federal agents stepped out of their vehicles, lowering their weapons in stunned realization as their onboard computers downloaded the undeniable proof of systemic corruption.
“What are you all doing? Arrest them! That broadcast is unauthorized treason!”
A frantic voice screamed over a bullhorn from the leading armored tactical van parked at the edge of the courtyard.
Assistant Attorney General Vance stepped out from the back of the van, his face flushed with blind panic, frantically waving his arms at the hesitant officers.
“Don't listen to a word of that transmission! It’s all a fabricated smear campaign by corporate criminals!”
He shouted desperately, his polished composure completely shattered as his career dissolved into dust.
Agent Miller stepped down the cathedral stone steps, walking straight toward the panicked official with her gold badge held out clearly in front of her.
“It’s over, Director. The global media syndicates have already archived every single file. You’re under arrest for high treason, extortion, and corporate murder.”
Agent Miller commanded firmly, snapping heavy steel handcuffs around the Assistant Attorney General's wrists before he could draw his weapon.
The corrupt official thrashed and cursed as he was forcefully shoved into the back of a local police cruiser, his decades-long reign of terror abruptly ending in disgrace.
Clara stood at the top of the stone steps, watching the corrupt men who had tried to break her being hauled away in disgrace, her torn white lace veil fluttering softly in the morning breeze.
“We actually did it, Mom. The nightmare is finally over.”
Clara whispered, leaning her head gently against her mother’s shoulder as Richard wrapped his arms around them both.
“No, sweetheart. This isn't the end of a nightmare. This is the very beginning of a brand-new life built on absolute truth.”
Elena smiled, kissing the top of her daughter's head with profound warmth and affection.
Clara took a deep, steady breath of the crisp morning air, feeling the profound weight of the bruised wedding veil slide off her shoulders as she tossed it carelessly onto the stone steps.
