Chapter 7: Breaking Point

For three weeks, Victoria endured grueling physical labor. She blistered her hands and ruined her nails. She served meals to the homeless, veterans, and struggling families. She tried to maintain her icy exterior, refusing to speak to anyone. But one evening, while scraping burnt rice off a massive pan, the sheer exhaustion broke her. She collapsed against the industrial sink, sobbing uncontrollably. She had lost her condo, her friends, her status. She was nothing.
Eleanor quietly walked over and handed her a clean towel. ""You are crying for what you lost,"" Eleanor said gently. ""Someday, you will cry for what you have finally found.""
