Eleanor was astounded by what Victoria had done. ""You saved us,"" Eleanor said, tears in her eyes. ""You saved thousands of people.""
""No,"" Victoria replied softly. ""You saved me. I just paid rent.""
To secure the shelter's future permanently, they needed to buy the building. Eleanor had a bold idea. They would host a massive charity gala at L’Étoile d’Or. But they wouldn't serve caviar. They would serve the humble, hearty stew from the shelter, cooked by Victoria and Chef Thomas together.
