Chapter 3: The Boardroom Coup

Two weeks later, Eleanor was recovering at home. In her absence, Victoria, out on bail, attempted a desperate move. She called an emergency meeting with the board of directors, arguing that Eleanor was mentally unfit and too old to run the empire. Victoria had powerful friends and deep pockets. ""She dresses like a peasant and bleeds on the dining room floor,"" Victoria sneered at the long mahogany table. ""We need modern leadership.""
Just as the board was about to vote on a motion to force Eleanor into retirement, the heavy oak doors swung open.
