Within minutes, the flashing lights of police cruisers and an ambulance illuminated the frosted windows of the restaurant. Victoria tried to backpedal, her arrogance replaced by sheer panic. ""Eleanor, please, it was a misunderstanding! I'm the general manager, I've doubled profits this quarter!""
""You doubled profits by cutting wages and humiliating my staff,"" Eleanor replied as the paramedics bandaged her head. The police stepped forward, reading Victoria her rights for aggravated assault. As the cold metal cuffs clicked around Victoria’s wrists, the wealthy patrons—who moments ago had watched the assault in silence—now whispered in shock. Eleanor refused the stretcher, choosing to walk out of her restaurant on her own two feet, leaning slightly on Chef Thomas.
