Chapter 6: The Service Entrance

On a rainy Monday, Victoria arrived at ""The Hearth,"" a massive soup kitchen located in the city’s poorest district. She wore cheap jeans and a plain t-shirt—a far cry from her designer dresses. Eleanor was there, wearing an apron over her clothes, stirring a massive vat of stew.
""Welcome, Victoria,"" Eleanor said without looking up. ""Since you told me to use the service entrance, you will become intimately familiar with it. You will scrub the floors, wash the dishes, and serve the people you once despised."" Victoria scoffed, picking up a mop with disgust. ""This is torture.""
