Chapter 1: The Shattered Glass

The silence in L’Étoile d’Or, the city’s most exclusive restaurant, was deafening. The aggressive woman, Victoria, stood frozen. The crystal she had used to strike the older woman lay shattered on the marble floor. Chef Thomas, his tall white toque towering over the room, didn't even look at Victoria. He knelt beside the bleeding woman, Eleanor. ""Madam Founder,"" he repeated, his voice thick with emotion, ""the entire restaurant is waiting for your orders.""
Victoria’s face drained of color. ""Founder?"" she stammered, her voice trembling. ""That’s impossible. The owner is a reclusive billionaire... not this... this bag lady!""
Eleanor slowly sat up, pressing a cloth napkin to her bleeding forehead. Her eyes, though tired, held an unyielding strength. ""True wealth, Victoria,"" Eleanor said softly, ""does not need to scream for attention. It seems you have mistaken my humility for poverty.""
