Chapter 7: A Mother’s Strength**

Over the next two months, the mansion transformed. The cold, sterile minimalist decor that Chloe had enforced was replaced with warmth, books, and laughter.

Evelyn regained her weight and strength day by day. With Maria promoted to head estate manager and given full scholarship backing by Julian for her business administration degree, the household became a sanctuary of genuine respect.

One afternoon, Julian found his mother in the greenhouse, trimming wild orchids.

"You should be resting, Mom," Julian smiled, taking the shears gently from her hand.

"A working hand keeps a living soul, Julian," Evelyn chuckled softly. "Look at these orchids. Chloe thought she killed them when she stopped watering them in winter. But life is stubborn when its roots are deep."

She looked at her son with maternal wisdom. "Have you forgiven yourself yet?"

Julian looked away, watching the raindrops trickle down the glass panels. "I don't know if I can. I let a viper into our home."

"Forgiveness isn't about forgetting the viper, Julian," Evelyn said, touching his cheek. "It's about knowing you have the strength to heal from the bite. Don't let Chloe’s cruelty turn your heart into stone."
