CHAPTER 15: The Unbroken Light

The funeral in St. Jude was attended by the entire village. People brought fresh flowers, shared stories of Thomas’s wisdom, and celebrated the beautiful life he had led.

After the service, Leo and Gabriel stood on the high cliffs overlooking the blue sea, the ocean breeze carrying the fresh scent of pine and salt.

“What do we do now, Leo?” Gabriel asked, looking up at his older brother.

Leo wrapped an arm around Gabriel’s shoulders, looking out over the vast horizon where the sun was beginning to rise, painting the sky in brilliant hues of gold and amber.

“We keep going, Gabriel,” Leo said with quiet strength. “We use our lives to help others. I’ll heal people with my hands as a doctor, and you’ll heal people with your heart just by being who you are.”

Gabriel smiled, holding a small folded piece of paper—the same paper Leo had carried years ago when they first met Thomas at the street café.

They turned and walked down the path together, hand in hand, ready to face the world not with fear, but with love, hope, and an unbroken light that would shine through generations to come.
