Chapter 14 - The Final Reckoning on the Steps

Harrison stumbled up the grand marble steps of Blackwood Manor like a cornered animal, his expensive navy blue three-piece suit completely ruined, his hands bleeding freely from where he had shattered the glass at the wedding venue. Behind him, Eleanor dragged herself out of the passenger seat, her beige lace dress torn to shreds, her pearls scattered across the gravel driveway as she screamed obscenities into the night air.

"Arthur! You miserable old fraud!" Harrison bellowed, slamming his fists against the massive mahogany front doors with all his remaining strength. "You think you can steal my company, ruin my mother, and hide behind your little stone castle? Open this door or I swear I'll burn this entire estate to the ground!"

The heavy oak doors swung inward with absolute, effortless smoothness, revealing Arthur Vance standing tall and unyielding in the center of the brightly lit foyer, flanked by Julian Sterling and Vivienne, who held young Leo safely behind her.

Harrison staggered backward, tripping over his own ruined shoes as he stared face-to-face with the man he thought he had successfully buried thirty years ago. His mouth opened and closed mutely, no sound coming out as the absolute terror of reality finally crushed the last remnants of his arrogant delusion.

"You're... you're a monster..." Eleanor wheezed, hobbling up the steps and pointing a shaking, bloodied finger at Arthur. "You ruined our lives! We built Vance Global! We earned every single dollar!"

"You built an empire on theft, extortion, and the quiet destruction of anyone who got in your way," Arthur replied, his deep voice ringing out with terrifying clarity across the courtyard. He stepped out onto the threshold, his cherry-wood cane tapping rhythmically against the stone. "And now, the bill has finally come due."

Before Harrison could lunge forward in a desperate, suicidal attempt to attack his uncle, the quiet roar of heavy-duty engines filled the crisp night air. From both ends of the private driveway, four sleek, black federal tactical vehicles surged into view, their blinding red and blue strobe lights painting the stone facade of Blackwood Manor in flashes of harsh, inescapable color.

A dozen armed federal marshals poured out of the vehicles in precise, synchronized tactical formation, their heavy boots slamming against the gravel as they surrounded Harrison and Eleanor before either of them could take another step.

"Harrison Vance, Eleanor Vance," the lead marshal's voice boomed across the estate, cold and entirely devoid of emotion. "You are under arrest for federal corporate fraud, embezzlement of minor trust assets, destruction of federal property, and obstruction of justice."

Harrison collapsed to his knees right on the marble steps, his hands raised in surrender as the heavy steel handcuffs snapped shut around his wrists with a sharp, definitive click.
