CHAPTER 15: The True Heir

Marisa’s breath caught as Julian knelt before her—not out of shock, nor in front of an angry crowd, but with the calm devotion of a man who had found his true home.

He opened the box to reveal a simple, elegant ring set with a vintage sapphire, surrounded by delicate gold engravings matching the medallion.

"Five years ago, I let pride and expectations keep me from the only woman I ever loved," Julian said, his eyes shining with deep emotion. "I don't need a corporate alliance, and I don't need an empire to justify who I am. All I need is to be the father our daughter deserves, and the husband who honors you for the rest of my life. Will you marry me, Marisa?"

Tears of joy spilled over Marisa’s cheeks as she nodded, her voice clear and strong. "Yes. A thousand times, yes."

From the top of the marble staircase, small footsteps came pitter-pattering down the steps. Valentina, holding her beloved plush rabbit, bounded into the room and threw her arms around both of them, tackling them into a joyful embrace on the sunlit floor.

Julian held his family tightly in his arms, the gold heirloom gleaming softly on the mantelpiece above. He had built fortunes and inherited dynasties, but in that quiet living room filled with laughter, he knew he had finally claimed the only wealth that would ever truly matter.
