Chapter 15: A Legacy Eternal

The winter air was crisp and clear as hundreds of people gathered outside St. Jude’s Haven to pay their respects to Arthur Vance. Former street kids, local families, city officials, and business leaders stood shoulder to shoulder, holding burning candles under the evening sky.
Leo stood at the podium in front of the bakery, looking out at the sea of warm lights. Beside him stood his mother, Clara, holding his hand with firm support.
""Many years ago,"" Leo spoke into the microphone, his voice resonant and full of quiet strength, ""I walked into this very building with nothing in my hands but my little sister, hungry and terrified of the world. A man saw us not as a burden, but as human beings worthy of love.""
Leo paused, looking down at the silver locket he still wore under his shirt.
""Arthur taught me that true wealth isn't measured by the size of your bank account or the status of your name. It is measured by how many hands you reach down to lift up when you are at the top. The bread we share here is more than food—it is hope. And as long as this door remains open, Arthur’s light will never fade.""

Leo stepped down from the podium and walked to the front window of the bakery. He unlocked the glass door, turning the sign from Closed to Open.
A warm, golden light flooded out onto the snowy sidewalk, welcoming everyone inside—a sanctuary built on a single act of kindness that had changed the world forever.
