Chapter 10: The St. Jude’s Haven

Six months after that fateful morning, Arthur made a surprise announcement at the dinner table. He handed Leo a large leather envelope tied with a blue ribbon.

""What's this, Mr. Arthur?"" Leo asked, curiosity gleaming in his eyes.

""Open it,"" Arthur smiled.

Leo untied the ribbon and pulled out a set of official deeds and architectural blueprints. At the top of the main document, in gold lettering, read the title: The St. Jude Community Bakery & Youth Haven.

""I purchased the bakery downtown,"" Arthur explained softly. ""The very one where we met. But we are transforming it. The front will remain a bakery, providing fresh, warm bread to the neighborhood. But the entire back building and upper floors will be a community center—a place where struggling families can find hot meals, temporary shelter, and legal support.""

Clara gasped, covering her mouth with her hands. ""Arthur... that's incredible.""

""And I want you to manage the financial foundation, Clara,"" Arthur continued. ""And Leo... when you are older, it will be yours to run.""

Leo looked at the blueprints, his heart swelling with pride. He looked up at Arthur with deep admiration. ""We're going to make sure no kid ever gets turned away for being hungry again.""

""Never again,"" Arthur agreed firmly.
