Chapter 15: The Nest Full of Hope

As the sun began to set, painting the evening sky in brilliant shades of amber, gold, and soft violet, the guests slowly said their goodbyes. The yard settled into a peaceful quiet.

Kristen, Arthur, Richard, and the twins gathered around the big oak dining table on the back porch, sharing a warm evening meal together under strings of soft golden patio lights.

Leo walked over to the edge of the porch, looking up at the high branch of the grand oak tree. Hanging there was his very first light-blue wooden birdhouse—the one he had carried on that bitter autumn night two years ago.

Suddenly, a small brown robin fluttered down from the sky, perching gently on the tiny wooden peg before ducking inside the warm shelter of the birdhouse.

""Look, Mom!"" Leo pointed, his hazel eyes shining with absolute joy and wonder. ""A bird finally moved in!""

Kristen walked over, placing her arms around her son and daughter, while Arthur and Richard smiled warmly beside them.

""I told you, sweetie,"" Kristen whispered softly, her heart full and complete. ""When you build a home with love and kindness, life will always find its way in."""
