Chapter 15 - A New Dawn for the Sterling Empire

"You think you've won, Clara, but the board still holds fifty-one percent of the voting shares registered in offshore accounts that the federal government can't touch!" Marcus yelled over the wind, his voice laced with venom as the marshals pushed him toward the elevator.

Clara stopped dead in her tracks, turning slowly to face the disgraced lawyer with an expression of absolute, unshakeable confidence.

"Those offshore shares were purchased using embezzled trust funds, Marcus, which means under Section 12 of the federal corporate forfeiture act, they revert immediately back to the primary bloodline," Clara stated clearly, her voice ringing out across the quiet rooftop.

Marcus stared at her, his jaw dropping open in utter disbelief as the full realization of his defeat finally set in. Without another word, the marshals shoved him into the elevator car, and the doors slid shut for the very last time, sealing his fate alongside Eleanor's. Arthur chuckled softly, shaking his head in sheer admiration as he looked at his daughter.

"You really thought of everything, didn't you?" Arthur asked, a proud smile spreading across his weathered face.

"I had the best teachers in the world, Dad," Clara replied, stepping back into the warm, wood-paneled interior of the penthouse elevator alongside Martha and David.

As the car descended smoothly through the fifty floors of the newly reclaimed luxury hotel, Clara watched the digital floor numbers tick down in steady, rhythmic succession. When the doors finally opened to the grand lobby, the crystal chandeliers beamed with a brilliant, welcoming light, reflecting off the polished marble floors where she had been so cruelly thrown down just twenty-four hours earlier. The remaining staff members lined up along the reception desk, bowing their heads respectfully as Clara Sterling walked through the center of the lobby with her head held high and her father right beside her. Martha took her place behind the primary reception desk, turning the heavy brass ledger to a fresh, blank page ready for a new era of integrity and justice. Clara reached up, her fingers gently brushing against the cool silver locket resting securely against her chest, knowing that the shadows of the past had finally been swept away by the uncompromising light of truth. She stepped out through the grand front doors into the bright morning sunshine, ready to claim her rightful future as the true sovereign of the Sterling empire.
