Chapter 10: Sowing Seeds
Julian reached into his pocket and pulled out a small business card with a phone number written on the back. He handed it to Elena.
"What is this?" she asked, clutching the card.
"It's the contact information for a non-profit vocational academy upstate," Julian explained. "They help women rebuild their careers and find independence through honest work and education. If you truly want to change your life, go there. Work hard. Learn what it means to build something with your own hands."
Elena stared at the card. There were no millions attached to it, no easy shortcuts, and no glamorous titles. It was an invitation to humble labor and genuine redemption.
"I won't give you money, Elena," Julian added kindly. "Because money would only keep you trapped in the illusion. But I will give you a chance to earn your dignity back."
Elena pressed the card to her chest and bowed her head, weeping not from humiliation, but from profound gratitude. "Thank you, Julian. I promise... I won't waste it."
As Elena walked away down the quiet street, Julian watched her until she turned the corner. He knew the road ahead for her would be long and difficult, but for the first time, her steps carried the weight of honesty.
