Chapter 14 - The Final Reckoning

Thomas snatched the platinum keycard off the table, staring at the family crest as if trying to find a flaw in the metal. "This—this is a procedural technicality! The board has already voted nine to three in favor of my restructuring plan! You can't just override the democratic consensus of the directors!"
"Democracy requires honesty, Thomas," Arthur said coldly, pulling out the chairman’s chair and sitting down with slow, deliberate grace. He rested his hands on the table, fixing his younger brother with a piercing stare. "You conspired with regional managers to cover up multi-million-dollar counterfeiting rings, funneled corporate contingency funds into offshore shell companies, and staged a boardroom coup while my flagship store was actively being raided by federal agents."
The boardroom erupted into chaos. Several directors jumped to their feet, shouting over one another in a panic as the horrifying reality of what Thomas had dragged them into became crystal clear.
"Counterfeiting?" shouted Director Henderson, a silver-haired man who had voted in favor of Thomas's plan minutes earlier. "Thomas, you told us the budget shortfall was due to supply chain inflation!"
"Don't listen to them!" Thomas shrieked, his voice cracking with desperation as he pointed a shaky finger at Maya. "They are manufacturing fake evidence to seize total control of the company! They're destroying the Vance legacy!"
Maya stepped forward, pulling the heavy leather ledger from her bag and dropping it squarely onto the center of the mahogany table. Mr. Hayes’s forensic audit report spilled out right beside it, detailing every single illicit wire transfer, fake inventory manifest, and offshore account bearing Thomas’s digital signature.
"Mr. Hayes and the federal investigators have already cataloged every transaction," Maya said calmly, looking around the room at the pale, sweating faces of the compromised directors. "Every signature in this book is registered. Every offshore account has been frozen by court order as of twenty minutes ago."
Thomas stared at the ledger, his knees finally buckling beneath him. He collapsed heavily into his chair, his hands covering his face as the crushing weight of his exposed crimes sealed his fate.

"Federal marshals are currently waiting in the lobby for you and your co-conspirators, Thomas," Arthur said quietly. "Enjoy your restructuring plan."
