Chapter 14

Tears of pure happiness spilled freely down Eleanor’s cheeks as she stared down at the man kneeling before her on the coastal cliff. The memory of that dreadful Friday night at L’Étoile flashed through her mind like a distant, fading dream—the cruel joke, the public humiliation, the despair of feeling entirely alone. Yet, looking at Julian now, she realized that every painful step of that journey had been a necessary catalyst guiding her toward the only person who truly understood her soul.
"Yes," Eleanor whispered, her voice trembling slightly with emotion before growing clear and resolute. "Yes, Julian, a thousand times yes."
Julian stood up swiftly, wrapping his arms around her and lifting her off her feet as laughter bubbled up from both of them. He slid the delicate diamond ring onto her finger, sealing the promise with a long, tender kiss that erased all remaining doubts from their shared universe.
The wedding took place six months later, intimate and elegant, held in the sunlit garden of the coastal estate where Julian had proposed. There were no corporate acquaintances seeking favors, no malicious coworkers whispering behind their hands, and no elaborate setups designed for mockery. Present were only their closest family members and true, steadfast friends who loved and supported them unconditionally.
Eleanor wore a flowing ivory silk gown that radiated timeless grace, her blonde hair styled in soft waves adorned with delicate white blossoms. As she walked down the stone garden pathway on her father’s arm, she caught sight of Julian standing at the altar in a tailored navy suit, looking at her with the exact same intense, unwavering devotion he had shown her on the very first night they met.
When they exchanged their vows, Julian’s voice was steady and profound, promising to stand beside her through every storm life might present. And when Eleanor recited her vows, she promised to be his anchor, his confidante, and his greatest champion.

As the sun began to set over the ocean, casting a golden glow across the wedding reception dinner, Julian stood up to toast his new bride. Raising his crystal glass of champagne, he looked around the table at their assembled loved ones before locking his gaze onto Eleanor.
"They say that life tests us with unexpected trials to see if we will break," Julian said, his voice carrying clearly across the quiet garden. "But sometimes, the cruelest jokes of fate are actually divine interventions, leading us straight to the only person we were always meant to find."
