Chapter 8: Unearthing the Snake**

Late that night, Julian met his lead private investigator, Frank Vance (a former federal intelligence agent), in the basement security bunker of the estate. Massive monitors illuminated the darkened room with financial spreadsheets, forensic blueprints, and old security footage.
“We found something big, boss,” Frank said, tapping a key. A schematic of Clara’s wrecked five-year-old vehicle appeared on the main screen. “The local police report was falsified. The mechanic who inspected the brake lines committed suicide two months after the crash—except his offshore account received a wire transfer of two million dollars three days prior.”
Julian leaned over the desk, his fists clenching until his knuckles turned pure white. “Trace the offshore account.”
“It routed through three shell corporations in the Cayman Islands,” Frank explained, pulling up a digital financial chain. “All owned by a single blind trust: *Aegis Holdings*.”
“Aegis Holdings is Marcus’s private investment vehicle,” Julian said, his voice dropping to a terrifying whisper. “My own cousin.”
“It gets dirtier,” Frank continued. “Marcus didn't act alone. Aegis Holdings was funded directly by Senator Sterling’s political action committee. Marcus wanted the Vance CEO chair, and Sterling wanted Julian’s international distribution network for his family's logistics empire. Clara was a middle-class orphan with no political backing—she was the only obstacle preventing an aristocratic merger between the Vance and Sterling dynasties.”
Julian stood upright, an aura of absolute lethal fury radiating from him. Marcus had sat across from him at Thanksgiving dinners. Marcus had toasted to Julian’s success while secretly plotting the slaughter of his wife and unborn child.
“Do we have enough to put them away for life?” Julian asked coldly.
“With these wire transfers and the mechanic’s hidden digital ledger? Absolutely,” Frank replied. “The Department of Justice will raid their offices within twenty-four hours.”

“No,” Julian said, his eyes blazing with vengeance. “Not yet. I want them to walk into the boardroom tomorrow thinking they hold all the cards. I want to look into their eyes when their entire world collapses.”
