A heavy rainstorm battered the estate windows that night. Julian sat by the fireplace with Elena, the old ledgers spread across the rug between them.
“This fortune... everything we live in,” Julian said, his voice dripping with remorse, “was built on a foundation of stolen dreams.”

“It’s not enough to just be better than him, Elena,” Julian insisted, looking out at the rain-swept gardens. “We have to make things right. Only justice can protect Lily from the ghosts of this family.”
