The following morning, the financial district was flooded with news of the voluntary disclosures made by Julian’s firm. Rather than waiting for Marcus to spin a narrative, Julian held a live press conference in the building’s main auditorium.
Clara watched from the side balcony, holding Leo in her arms. Below, dozens of reporters shouted questions, their camera flashes creating a rhythmic strobe light across the stage.
Julian stood at the podium without a script. He spoke candidly about the fraud committed by Marcus, the systemic failures within his firm, and the personal cost of the entire ordeal.
"For months, I allowed my focus on corporate defense to blind me to what was happening to the people I loved," Julian stated, his voice echoing clearly through the microphone. "Mistakes were made, and funds were manipulated by individuals who sought to divide us. But transparency is the only path forward. I accept full responsibility for the oversight within my firm, and I will personally reimburse every dollar misallocated during that period."
