Chapter 14: The Symphony of Home

A year after their wedding, the family settled into a comfortable two-story home near the coast, away from the concrete landscape of the city center. The house featured a large garden filled with blooming hydrangea bushes, a wooden swing set in the backyard, and a wide porch that looked out over the ocean.
Every evening, after the work for the foundation was wrapped up, Julian and Clara sat on the porch swings, watching Leo play in the yard with their newly adopted rescue golden retriever, Barnaby.
Leo’s laughter rang out over the sound of the ocean waves, a bright, constant melody that filled every corner of their lives.
"Did you ever imagine we would end up here?" Clara asked softly, resting her head against Julian’s shoulder as the sun began to dip below the horizon, painting the sky in brilliant hues of violet and gold.

Julian turned his head to press a soft kiss against her hair. "In the darkest days of the audit, when I thought I had lost everything, I couldn't have pictured this. But looking back, I realize that losing my old life was the only way I could ever become the man who deserved this one."
"You always deserved it, Julian," Clara said gently, looking into his eyes. "You just needed to find your way home."
