Chapter 11: Rebuilding the Broken

Evelyn walked slowly toward Sarah, her small hand reaching out to touch her mother's face. Sarah caught her tiny wrist, pressing a soft kiss against her palm.

""I missed you every single day, my sweet girl,"" Sarah sobbed gently, hugging both girls against her chest.

I wrapped my arms around all three of them, closing my eyes. The nightmare was over. The poison, the lies, the isolation—none of it had been able to destroy the invisible thread that held us together.
