Chapter 11: The Subpoena Execution

The rain beat a relentless tattoo against the reinforced glass windows of Harrison Enterprises as a dozen federal agents moved through the lobby in synchronized coordination. Leading the team, Elena walked with purposeful strides, her grey trench coat sweeping slightly behind her. Behind her, IT forensics specialists carrying secure hardware cases fanned out toward the server rooms, while financial investigators marched directly toward the executive elevators.
Receptionists and security guards stood frozen, paralyzed by the sheer scope of the federal raid. The era of unchecked corporate dominance was coming to a screeching halt in real-time.
On the top floor, Richard Harrison sat alone behind his massive walnut desk. The door burst open without warning. Richard didn't even look up immediately, assuming it was another panicked board member or a groveling lawyer. Instead, he heard the sharp click of handcuffs resting on his desk.
""You're making a catastrophic mistake, Agent Vance,"" Richard said slowly, finally raising his dark, calculating eyes. He stood up, smoothing his tailored blue suit with icy precision. ""By sundown, my legal team will have every judge in this district reviewing your warrants for procedural overreach.""
""Your legal team is currently cooperating with us to preserve their own licenses, Mr. Harrison,"" Elena replied calmly, stopping just an arm's length away. She didn't flinch under his intimidating glare. ""We have the bank ledgers, the offshore shell company transfers, the encrypted text messages coordinating the school cover-up, and the unedited dispatch audio. The game of buying your way out of accountability is officially over.""
Richard let out a cold, sharp laugh, though a bead of sweat formed at his temple. ""You think a few spreadsheets and a playground scuffle are going to bring down an empire that builds this city's infrastructure? The politicians, the commissioners, the judges—they all depend on my capital to keep their projects alive. They won't let me fall alone.""
""They aren't going to have a choice,"" Marcus announced, stepping into the office carrying a secure data drive. ""We just seized the primary communications server. Every single bribe, every illicit municipal contract, and every coordination memo involving local officials has been uploaded directly to the Department of Justice secure cloud. It's fully backed up and out of your reach.""
Richard’s smug expression finally shattered entirely. The color drained from his face as he realized the absolute completeness of his downfall. He lunged forward instinctively, but the two federal marshals flanking Elena stepped in, firmly placing him against the desk and securing the heavy steel cuffs around his wrists.

""You're finished,"" Elena whispered, her voice carrying the quiet weight of justice fulfilled.
