Chapter 10: The Cornered Wolf**

Across town at the Sterling Penthouse on Park Avenue, Victoria was furiously packing diamond jewelry, passports, and hard drives into a luxury leather duffel bag.
Her private jet was idling at Teterboro Airport, clearance filed for a non-extradition country in the Middle East.
"Ma'am, we have a problem," her personal assistant said, running into the master bedroom with an iPad. "The Federal Reserve just froze all Sterling Capital transaction bridges. The bank accounts won't authorize wire transfers."
"What?!" Victoria screamed, slamming the duffel bag shut. "Call our contact at Homeland Security! Pay him whatever he wants!"
"He's not answering, Victoria," a calm, chilling voice came from the penthouse foyer.
Victoria froze.
Standing in the grand archway of the penthouse was Elena, flanked by the Assistant U.S. Attorney and two dozen federal marshals. Elena was dressed in a tailored navy suit—the exact signature style her father used to wear during philanthropic summits.
"You can't be in my home," Victoria hissed, backing toward the balcony doors as her hands gripped the duffel bag like a lifeline. "This is private property! I'm worth eight billion dollars!"

"You're not worth a single cent, Victoria," Elena said, stepping into the grand living room. "As of twenty minutes ago, the board of Vance Global voted unanimously to strip your family of all voting shares. Every asset tied to the St. Jude embezzlements has been placed into court-ordered receivership."
