Chapter 15 - Home

Six months later.
A small, cozy wooden house sat nestled on a green hill overlooking the roaring blue ocean. The sound of crashing waves echoed softly in the distance, mingled with the sweet scent of saltwater and wild flowers.
On the front porch, Jax sat on a wooden bench, a pair of reading glasses perched on his nose as he carved a piece of oak wood with a small pocket knife. Beside him on a small side table sat a brand new, beautifully framed picture—the old faded photograph of young Jax holding baby Leo, placed right next to a fresh photo of all three of them smiling on the beach.
Leo came running up the wooden steps, covered in sand, holding a large, strangely shaped seashell. "Dad! Look what I found down by the tide pools!"
Jax set his carving wood down and took the shell, examining it with genuine wonder. "That's a rare one, Leo. Looks like a starfish used to live in here."
Sarah walked out onto the porch carrying a tray of iced tea, leaning down to kiss Jax gently on the forehead before handing Leo a glass. "Don't get sand on the porch, little man," she teased lightheartedly.
Leo giggled, sitting down on the top step, looking out over the endless blue ocean as the sun began its slow descent into the water, painting the sky in vibrant shades of pink, orange, and gold.

Jax wrapped his arm around Sarah's waist as she sat beside him. He looked at his wife, then at his son, feeling a profound sense of gratitude wash over his soul. The road had been long, dark, and filled with painful mistakes, but it had finally brought him right where he belonged.
He was no longer Jax the biker, the lone ghost of the highway. He was a father, a husband, and finally, home.
