Chapter 11 - The Ultimate Stand

Before Vance could pull the trigger, a loud siren blared from down the street, followed by the screeching of heavy tires. Two dark SUVs rounded the corner at high speed, slamming into two of Vance's parked motorcycles and sending them crashing across the pavement.
Armed men in tactical gear poured out of the SUVs, weapons raised, shouting commands for everyone to drop their arms. Vance's face turned pale as he realized he was suddenly outnumbered and outgunned.
"Federal agents! Drop your weapons now!" a voice boomed through a megaphone.
Jax stood his ground, instantly recognizing the insignia on the tactical vests. Years ago, before he burned the ledger, he had sent a copy of Vance's illegal operations to an federal agent he trusted—an insurance policy he prayed he would never have to use. The agency had taken three years to build their case, and tonight, they had finally closed the net.

Vance panicked, firing a wild shot toward Jax before turning to run into the shadows of the alley. Jax dodged the bullet and sprinted after Vance, tackling him hard onto the cold asphalt. The two men wrestled fiercely in the dark, but Jax's raw determination and overwhelming need to protect his family gave him unstoppable strength. With one final, powerful blow, Jax disarmed Vance and pinned him face-down on the ground until the federal officers swarmed in to place Vance in heavy handcuffs.
As the officers dragged Vance away, Jax stood up, breathing heavily, wiping sweat and blood from his forehead. He turned back toward the pickup truck, where Sarah and Leo were watching him through the glass.
