Chapter 14: Milestones**

Years drifted by like gentle tides. The coastal cottage expanded with a sunny greenhouse and a large deck where family dinners were held every evening. *Horizon Freight* flourished into one of the most respected green logistics companies in the nation, but Julian never worked late enough to miss dinner or a school concert.

When Liam turned sixteen, Julian handed him the keys to a restored vintage truck they had spent two summers rebuilding together in the garage.

"Take it easy on the clutch," Julian laughed, patting the hood.

Liam looked at the keys, then at Julian. He was now almost as tall as his father, possessing the same sharp intellect and quiet strength.

"Dad," Liam said, his voice deep and sincere. "I never said it enough when I was little. But thank you for walking out of that church. You gave up everything for us."

Julian placed a firm hand on his son’s shoulder, looking into eyes that held so much life and hope. "Liam, walking out of that church wasn't a sacrifice. It was the moment my life actually began."
