Chapter 12: Starting Over**

With the criminal syndicate inside Vance Enterprises dismantled, the board of directors begged Julian to return as Chairman and CEO to save the remaining clean divisions of the company.

Julian declined.

Instead, he negotiated a complete corporate restructuring, distributing the recovered offshore funds into an independent trust for the company’s lower-tier workers and establishing a national pediatric cancer research foundation in Elena’s name.

Julian officially launched his new maritime startup, *Horizon Freight*, operating directly out of the small coastal harbor near their cottage. He kept the company small, ethical, and grounded.

Life settled into a rhythm of simple, profound happiness.

Every morning, Julian made blueberry pancakes for the twins. Liam excelled in school, joining the local youth soccer team, while Mia discovered a passion for playing the piano, filling the ocean-side cottage with clumsy, joyful melodies.

One sunny afternoon, Julian stood on the sidelines of the soccer field, cheering loudly as Liam scored his first goal. When the boy ran over to celebrate, he didn't give Julian a handshake; he leaped into his arms, wrapping his arms tightly around his neck.

"Did you see that, Dad?!" Liam beamed, out of breath.

"I saw every second of it, champ," Julian smiled, wiping the sweat from Liam's brow. "I'm so proud of you."

Standing nearby, holding a half-eaten ice cream cone, Mia reached up to hold Julian's hand. In that moment, Julian realized that all the boardrooms, wealth, and social prestige in the world couldn't equal one second of this warmth.
