Chapter 13: The Whispering Wind**

On the one-year anniversary of Elena’s passing, Julian took Liam and Mia on a hike up to the high coastal cliffs overlooking the vast, sapphire-blue ocean.
The wind was gentle, carrying the fresh scent of wildflowers and sea salt. Julian carried a wooden basket filled with fresh white daisies—Elena’s favorite flowers.
They stood at the edge of the scenic overlook, the sun setting in brilliant streaks of amber and violet across the horizon.
"Mom said that when people go to heaven, they become the wind," Mia said softly, looking up at the sky. "She said whenever a breeze touches our cheeks, it’s her kissing us."
Julian knelt down between the children, his heart full. He handed each of them a handful of white petals.
"Thank you, Elena," Julian whispered to the open sea. "Thank you for trusting me with our beautiful children. I promise I will spend every day making them happy."
Liam and Mia tossed the petals into the air. The coastal breeze caught the white blossoms, swirling them gracefully into the golden light before carrying them far out over the rolling waves.

Liam reached out and took Julian's hand on one side, while Mia gripped his fingers on the other. For a long time, the three of them stood in silence, feeling the warm wind brush softly against their cheeks.
