Chapter 5 - Federal Intervention

The sleek black vehicles came to a synchronized halt near the grand fountain, kicking up a fine mist of water that caught the sunlight. Four federal agents in tailored suits stepped out with practiced efficiency, their heavy boots crunching softly on the gravel driveway as they advanced toward the terrace.
Julian scrambled backward on the grass, his pristine black tuxedo now stained with green grass and dirt. "You can't do this! I have rights! I demand legal representation!" he yelled, his voice cracking into a high-pitched panic as the agents closed in around him.
"You'll have all the representation the federal penitentiary can afford, Mr. Sterling—pardon me, Mr. Vance," Agent Vance, the lead investigator, said coldly as he flipped open a leather folder containing federal arrest warrants. "Conspiracy to commit wire fraud, embezzlement of non-profit medical funds, and interstate extortion."
Doctor Harrison stepped forward, handing a thick manila folder directly to the federal agent. "All the financial ledgers, encrypted server backups, and audio confessions are in here. The chain of custody is completely secure."
Agent Vance nodded approvingly, glancing briefly at Eleanor and Clara before signaling his subordinates. Two agents grabbed Julian by the arms, hoisting him effortlessly to his feet as he thrashed and cursed, his polished wedding shoes dragging uselessly across the manicured turf.
"Eleanor! Please! We share a history!" Julian shrieked as they shoved him toward the back of the federal SUV. The heavy doors slammed shut with a definitive, metallic thud that seemed to echo the finality of his ruined life.
As the vehicles reversed and sped away down the winding estate driveway, a heavy, suffocating silence settled over the wedding guests. No one moved. No one spoke. The magnificent mansion loomed behind them like a silent witness to the tragedy and triumph that had just unfolded on its lawn.
Clara clutched her swollen belly, her legs suddenly buckling beneath her from the overwhelming adrenaline crash. Eleanor reacted instantly, catching Clara by the shoulders and easing her down onto a cushioned garden bench near the champagne tower.

"Doctor Harrison, get your medical kit," Eleanor commanded, her voice ringing out with absolute authority. "She’s going into premature labor."
