Chapter 2 - The Digital Execution

The screen of Clara’s phone continued to pulse with incoming alerts, casting an eerie blue light across her tear-streaked face. Doctor Harrison skidded to a halt just feet away, his chest heaving as he kept his eyes locked on the silver wedding blade still gripped tightly in Eleanor’s hand.
"Step back, Doctor," Eleanor warned softly, her voice devoid of any warmth. "This is a private family matter. A reckoning long overdue."
"Ella, listen to me," Julian pleaded, his voice cracking as he finally found the courage to step between his bride and the desperate pregnant woman. "Put the knife down. Let Clara leave. I’ll explain everything to the press, to your father, to everyone. Just don't do something we can all take back."
Eleanor’s eyes flicked to Julian, a flicker of profound disgust crossing her features. "You think this is about public embarrassment, Julian? You think I care what the society columnists write tomorrow morning?" She gestured with the blade toward the glowing phone screen still clutched in Clara’s hand. "Why don't you read out loud what your loving husband transferred into Clara’s account just twenty minutes before we walked down the aisle?"
Clara blinked through her tears, looking down at the device. Her thumb accidentally brushed the screen, opening a pre-scheduled email attachment that Julian had undoubtedly forgotten to delete. It wasn't just a bank transfer; it was a comprehensive corporate dossier detailing the systematic embezzlement of the Sterling family foundation.
"He wasn't just leaving you for me, Eleanor," Clara whispered, the blood from her lip smearing onto her chin as she spoke. "He was using my unborn child as leverage to drain your family’s entire estate into an offshore shell company."
A collective murmur erupted from the wedding guests, who had crowded closer, transfixed by the unfolding drama. Julian’s face drained of all color, his tuxedo suddenly looking like a mourning suit.
"That's a lie! She's framing me!" Julian shouted, lunging forward to snatch the phone from Clara’s grip.

Instead of pulling away, Clara held the phone out toward Doctor Harrison, whose professional demeanor suddenly shifted into something far more calculating. The doctor didn't take the phone; instead, he slowly reached into his own coat pocket and pulled out a matching Sterling Foundation corporate seal.
