The financial fallout of Julian’s crimes required a massive, sweeping forensic audit that took four grueling months to complete. Thomas spearheaded the effort from the family side, working tirelessly alongside investigators to untangle the complex web of shell companies, fraudulent loans, and hidden assets Julian had accumulated behind their backs. It turned out that Julian had not only targeted Olivia’s personal savings but had also embezzled funds from several joint accounts and swindled a number of investors through fraudulent business ventures.
When the final audit report landed on Olivia’s desk, it was a thick binder detailing every lie, every forged signature, and every illicit transaction. Sitting across from her in the conference room, Thomas looked visibly drained but relieved. "The courts have frozen all of his remaining assets," Thomas explained, turning the pages to show the summary of recoveries. "Most of the stolen funds from your accounts have been traced and secured. We can begin the process of returning everything to you and the other victims."
"And the insurance policy?" Olivia asked, her voice calm as she traced the edge of the table. "Voided completely," Thomas replied firmly. "Fraud invalidates any claim ab initio. He won't see a single cent. In fact, given the federal charges now added to the local indictment, the prosecutors are pushing for maximum consecutive sentences. He’s looking at twenty to life without the possibility of parole." The legal machinery had ground slowly, but it had crushed every single pillar of Julian’s elaborate, murderous scheme.

Olivia closed the binder with a soft thud that echoed in the quiet room. The financial damage was significant, but it was recoverable. More importantly, her name was cleared, her independence restored, and her life was entirely her own once again. She looked at Thomas with deep appreciation. "Thank you for everything you've done, Thomas. You didn't have to carry this burden with me." Thomas offered a tired, genuine smile. "He was my brother, Olivia, but justice has no family ties.
