Chapter 13

The boardroom descended into total pandemonium. Several corrupt board members scrambled out of their leather chairs, shouting protests and reaching for their briefcases, while others sat frozen in absolute terror as the federal marshals fanned out across the perimeter of the room.

"You can't do this!" Victoria shrieked, losing all her corporate polish as she lunged forward across the table toward Elena. "That money is mine! You're just a foolish girl playing a dangerous game you don't understand!"

Detective Sarah Jenkins stepped smoothly between them, firmly pushing Victoria back into her chair with a restraining hand on her shoulder. "One more step toward her, Victoria, and you'll be spending the next twenty years in a maximum-security federal penitentiary instead of a corporate holding cell."

Elena didn't flinch. She pulled a sleek, encrypted hardware token from her pocket and plugged it directly into the master presentation console at the front of the boardroom. The giant projection screen behind her flickered, shifting instantly from Victoria’s fraudulent asset consolidation slides to a glowing, real-time cryptographic verification interface.

"The system requires dual-factor biometric and mnemonic authorization to permanently revoke all executive privileges held by the previous administration," Elena announced clearly, her fingers resting lightly on the console keyboard.

She pressed her thumb against the biometric scanner embedded in the token. A soft, melodic chime echoed through the boardroom, followed by a brilliant green progress bar flashing across the screen: Biometric Match Confirmed. Root Access Restored.

"Now for the final cryptographic seed," Elena whispered to herself. She closed her eyes for a brief moment, recalling the childhood mnemonic phrase her father had taught her during long summer evenings by the lake—a complex sequence of words derived from his favorite poetry collection, locked permanently inside her memory.

With fluid, deliberate movements, Elena typed the thirty-two-character recovery phrase into the terminal.

The giant screen flashed a brilliant emerald green. A clean, bold message appeared across the display: Vance Foundation Asset Transfer Complete. All Unauthorized Accounts Frozen. Permanent Board Restructuring Authorized.

Victoria slumped back into her leather chair, her chest heaving as defeat finally washed over her features like a cold wave. The multi-million-dollar empire she had spent years scheming to steal had evaporated into digital dust in less than sixty seconds.

"It's over, Victoria," Sarah Jenkins said quietly, pulling a pair of shiny steel handcuffs from her tactical belt. "You have the right to remain silent."
