Chapter 8: The Yellow House**

Before returning, Mia guided Julian to the outskirts of the town, pointing toward a weathered blue cottage with peeling paint and overgrown hydrangeas.
"That's Mrs. Gable's house," Mia said. "She took care of me when Mama was in the hospital."
An elderly woman in a woolen cardigan opened the door. When she recognized Mia, her face softened into pure relief. "Oh, sweetheart!" she cried, pulling the girl into a warm hug.
Then she looked up at Julian, her expression turning guarded. "You're Julian."
"Yes, ma'am," Julian said respectfully. "I came to settle Elena’s remaining medical debts and thank you for taking care of my daughter."

Mrs. Gable stepped aside, inviting them inside. "Elena never spoke ill of you, young man. She said you were fighting your own battles against people who didn't know how to love. Come in. There's something you need to see."
