Chapter 15: The Unbroken Promise**
Five years later, the morning sun rose bright over the harbor.
Mia, now thirteen, stood at the studio’s bay window, adjusting the strap of her violin case. She had grown tall, with Elena’s quick smile and Julian’s thoughtful gaze.
"Don't forget your umbrella," Julian called out from the kitchen, setting down a pair of freshly prepared lunchboxes. He wore simple denim and an apron dusted with dry clay from the morning pottery class.
"It's not going to rain, Dad," Mia laughed, picking up her bag.
She paused by the door, glancing at the framed locket hanging beside the entryway mirror. The small silver oval remained open, its portrait of youth now accompanied by a second photograph: Julian, Mia, and Mrs. Gable laughing together on a sunlit beach.
"See you at four?" Mia asked, turning with her hand on the doorknob.
