Chapter 14: The Fall of the Architect**

Victor Cole attempted to draw his weapon in the executive hallway, but he was instantly tackled to the marble floor by four tactical officers, his white gloves pinned beneath heavy handcuffs.
Inside the boardroom, the doors swung open. Julian walked into the room, flanked by Thomas and Marcus.
Julian didn’t look angry; he looked entirely liberated from the illusions that had governed his life for a decade. He looked straight into Evelyn’s trembling, pale face.
“It was never enough for you, was it?” Julian said quietly, the entire room falling dead silent around them. “The prestige, the mansions, the wealth. You saw Lily as a line item on an asset portfolio.”
“Julian, listen to me,” Evelyn stammered, backing toward the corner, her voice cracking as the federal agents surrounded her. “It was Arthur! He manipulated the accounts—he pressured me!”
“Save it for the grand jury, Evelyn,” Julian responded flatly.
Arthur was already being read his rights against the conference table, his pristine suit rumpled and his legal career entirely destroyed.
