Chapter 12: The Boardroom Coup**

On the 50th floor, the atmosphere inside the executive boardroom was thick with tension.
Evelyn Vance sat at the head of the polished obsidian conference table, dressed in an immaculate white designer suit. Her face wore an expertly crafted expression of grief and stoic concern. Beside her, Arthur Vance-Sterling organized a thick stack of legal affidavits.
The twelve members of the board of directors murmured among themselves in hushed, anxious tones.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” Arthur announced, clearing his throat and commanding the room. “As you know, our CEO, Julian Vance, has failed to appear for this mandatory audit following disturbing reports of erratic behavior and sudden disappearance. Under Section 14 of the corporate charter, Mrs. Vance is prepared to assume immediate interim authority to protect shareholder interests.”
Evelyn dabbed a faux tear from the corner of her eye with a silk handkerchief. “This is a heartbreaking day for our family. Julian was unwell… and we must protect his legacy, and our daughter’s future.”
Several board members nodded solemnly, preparing to sign the emergency resolution.
Suddenly, the lights across the entire 50th floor flickered violently.

The massive high-definition presentation monitors spanning the length of the boardroom went pitch black. A second later, the audio system let out a sharp tone, and the screens roared back to life—not with stock tickers or quarterly reports, but with a live, crystal-clear feed of Julian Vance standing in the master control room.
