Chapter 10: The Confession of Julian Cross

Inside the interrogation room of the Southern District of New York federal courthouse, Julian Cross looked unrecognizable. His tailored suit was wrinkled, his silk tie discarded, and his hair disheveled under the flickering fluorescent bulb.

His defense attorney leaned over, whispering frantic warnings, but Julian slammed his fists onto the metal table.

"It was Victoria's idea!" Julian yelled at the federal prosecutors sitting across from him. "She brought in the chemist! She promised me the CEO seat if I transferred the offshore accounts before the fiscal audit!"

Agent Torres raised an eyebrow, quietly tapping a pen on the table. "You willingly signed off on the liquidation of forty million dollars from the employee pension reserves, Mr. Cross."

"Because she told me Arthur found out!" Julian’s voice cracked in sheer panic. "He discovered the missing funds six months ago. He was going to disinherit both of us! We didn't have a choice!"

From behind the one-way mirror in the observation room, Elena stood beside Marcus, listening to the desperate unraveling of the man who had tried to destroy her family.

"It's always the same," Marcus remarked quietly. "When the illusion of power breaks, men like him crumble into dust."

Elena nodded slowly. "He spent his whole life trying to steal another man's legacy because he never had the spine to build one of his own."

She turned away from the glass. "Let the courts handle them, Marcus. We have a company to heal."
