Within a week, Richard Chen and his accomplices were formally indicted by federal authorities, removing the dark shadow that had hung over the Chen family for decades.

With the company restructured and the truth finally exposed, Julian made a sweeping decision that shocked the corporate world. He resigned from his position as Chief Executive Officer, appointing an independent ethics board to manage the enterprise.

Instead, Julian used his remaining share of the fortune to establish the Clara Vance Foundation for Children and the Arts—an organization dedicated to providing shelter, education, and artistic opportunities to orphaned children and struggling young mothers.

On the opening day of the foundation’s main community center, hundreds of families gathered in the courtyard. The sun shone brightly overhead, filling the space with light and warmth.

Victoria St. Clair stood at the edge of the crowd, looking humbled and ashamed. She stepped forward as Julian walked past.
