Chapter 14: The Symphony of the Estate

A year after their wedding, the seaside estate had fully embraced its new identity.

The once-cold marble halls were now filled with life, activity, and purpose. The foundation had expanded its reach, opening branch centers in three neighboring cities, offering refuge, vocational training, and legal protection to hundreds of vulnerable individuals every year.

Dominic and Clara worked side by side in the restored study, managing the foundation’s growing operations while ensuring the estate remained a warm, welcoming sanctuary for all who crossed its threshold.

One warm summer afternoon, Clara walked out onto the balcony holding her newborn daughter, wrapped in a soft woolen blanket.

Dominic joined her moments later, wrapping his arm gently around Clara’s waist and resting his chin on her shoulder as they looked down at the courtyard below. Children were playing near the stone fountain, and garden workers were harvesting fresh vegetables for the evening community dinner.

"What should we name her?" Dominic asked softly, looking down at his daughter’s small, peaceful face.

Clara looked up at the stone column where she had once been bound in darkness, now completely covered in blooming white roses and green vines.

May you like

"Grace," Clara replied gently. "Grace Sterling."

Dominic smiled, touching his daughter’s tiny hand. "It is perfect."
