Chapter 13: The Vow on the Cliff

Six months later, as autumn returned to the coast, a simple ceremony was held on the high cliffs overlooking the ocean—the very spot where Julian’s memory had once weighed heavily, now transformed into a place of celebration.

There were no high-society cameras, no grand ballroom decorations, and no aristocratic guest lists.

Gathered on the green lawn were the estate staff, the residents of the west wing shelter, Clara’s family, and a few true friends who had supported the foundation's mission.

Clara wore a simple, elegant ivory silk dress, her dark hair pinned back with a single stem of white rose from the estate garden. Dominic stood waiting for her under a wooden archway draped in ivy and autumn leaves, wearing a dark suit, his eyes never leaving her face as she walked down the aisle.

When she reached his side, Dominic took her hands, his grip warm and steady.

"I spent years living in the shadows of this house, afraid of the past," Dominic said, his voice echoing clearly over the sound of the ocean waves below. "You brought the light back into my life, Clara. You showed me that truth is not a weapon to hurt, but a foundation to heal."

Clara smiled, her eyes glowing with quiet happiness. "And you showed me that true strength lies in a heart willing to open its doors to those in need. I give you my heart, my hand, and my life, Dominic."

They exchanged simple gold rings, and as the minister pronounced them husband and wife, cheers and applause erupted from the small, loving crowd gathered around them.
