Chapter 5: The Ledger of Greed**

A collective gasp swept through the room. Julianne slammed her tablet onto the mahogany table.
“This is an outrage!” Julianne shouted, abandoning her carefully practiced composure. “You cannot unilaterally transfer voting rights to a minor without board approval! He has no credentials, no legal standing, and no right to sit in this room!”
Damian smiled coldly. He reached into his breast pocket, producing a slim leather notebook alongside the black keycard Leo had returned.
“For six months, Julianne, you’ve been funneling Aurelia Foundation medical grants into offshore shell accounts to fund your proxy vote buyouts,” Damian said calmly. “You thought my absence was weakness. You thought I was too tired to notice.”
The room went cold. Two board members immediately shifted their chairs away from Julianne.
“I placed the foundation's secondary keycard with Sarah seven years ago,” Damian explained, holding up the black card. “It wasn't just an access pass. It was the master decryption key to the philanthropic trust. Anyone who held this card had the power to audit every single wire transfer made under the Vance name.”
Julianne’s face lost all color.
Leo looked down at the black plastic on the table, realizing for the first time why his mother had kept it locked in a velvet box for years, refusing to sell it even when the hospital bills piled high.
“Mom said you always kept an emergency hatch for the truth,” Leo said into the quiet room.

Damian rested a gentle hand on Leo’s shoulder. “She was right, buddy. And today, the truth walks in the front door.”
