Chapter 8: The Confrontation
Arthur moved silently down the hallway until he heard voices echoing from a central control room. He peeked around the corner.
Two armed guards stood near a bank of servers, hastily loading hard drives into duffel bags. In the corner of the room, restrained to a metal chair, was a woman with hollow cheeks and long, dark hair.
Arthur’s heart stopped. Despite the years of isolation and strain, he recognized her instantly. It was Eleanor.
