Years later, standing in the courtyard of a newly opened rehabilitation center funded by the foundation, Sarah addressed a crowd. She spoke of cycles of pain and the immense, difficult power of breaking them. She looked up at a security camera mounted on the wall—no longer a symbol of terror and entrapment, but a reminder of the truth. The truth that even in the darkest rooms, if we choose humanity over vengeance, the light will eventually find its way in.
