Five years passed. Sarah was now a mother to a bright-eyed little girl. The foundation had successfully opened twenty shelters across the country. One afternoon, Sarah received a call from the prison warden. Eleanor’s health was failing rapidly; she had been diagnosed with terminal illness and had only months to live. Given her spotless behavioral record and her condition, she was being granted compassionate release. Sarah had a choice to make: let Eleanor fade away in a state hospice, or intervene.
